Core Features

  1. Processing Power and AI Acceleration
The EBC7702 is equipped with an 8-core 64-bit dual-die RISC-V processor featuring out-of-order execution and integrated AI accelerators. It delivers up to 40 TOPS (INT8) or 20 TFLOPS (FP16), providing strong computational throughput for machine learning inference, computer vision, and data processing tasks.
  2. Memory and Storage Architecture
Supporting up to 64GB LPDDR5 memory with onboard 32GB eMMC flash, the board also offers a flexible range of storage interfaces including M.2, SPI Flash, and MicroSD. This ensures compatibility across diverse deployment needs—from AI prototyping to embedded data logging.
  3. Connectivity and Expansion Options
Connectivity is robust with four Gigabit Ethernet ports, built-in Wi-Fi 5, and dual HDMI outputs. Expansion capabilities include two PCIe Gen3 x16 slots, multiple USB 3.0/2.0 ports, and four 12V fan headers. The motherboard also supports modular integration with AI accelerators, camera modules, and display units, making it ideal for edge AI, video analytics, and robotics applications.

The EBC7702 comes pre-installed with Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, offering a stable and secure Linux environment with long-term support and maintenance. ESWIN also provides prebuilt firmware images via GitHub for developers who prefer manual setup and system customization.

However, compatibility is limited to Ubuntu 24.04 LTS due to architectural constraints. Future Ubuntu releases (starting from 25.10) will require RISC-V hardware compliant with the RVA23 profile, which includes vector and hypervisor extensions. Since the EIC7702X is based on RV64GC without these extensions, upgrading to newer Ubuntu versions is not officially supported.

In the RISC-V Mini-DTX motherboard segment, the HiFive Premier P550 remains a notable counterpart, sharing a similar board layout and target market, though with differing SoC architectures.

According to Canonical’s joint release, the ESWIN EBC7702 Mini-DTX motherboard is expected to enter pre-order soon. As of now, a 32GB memory variant is already listed on Amazon at $698.00 USD.
